Seth Owusu signs 2 year contract with Hearts

It is official. Former Chivas USA star Seth Owusu has joined Accra Hearts of Oak after signing a two year deal for an undisclosed fee, Sportsinghana.com can exclusively reveal.

The left wing back was desperate for a move to Belgian top flight side Chaleroi who were also keen on his signature but after visa acquisition problems, has opted to stay in Ghana with the former Ghana and Africa champions as he also pursues the dream of playing national team football.

Hearts coach C.K. Akunnor reportedly thinks highly of Owusu and wasted no time at all in penning him down. The deal was struck late last night and the player is delighted to join the Phobians.

“Hearts are one of the biggest clubs in Ghana and even Africa so to get the opportunity to play for them is a privilege that cannot be compared. Everything is in God’s hands and we are praying that we shall do well next season,” Owusu told us.

He is also confident in the ability of his new coach to make Hearts of Oak champions again as the capital club look to put the misery of last season behind them.

“C.K. (Akunnor) has shown that he can do well and what us the players can do is to work hard and hope that something better happens for the club next season. I already told you he personally spoke to me that he wants me at Hearts so I know I will be working with a coach who wants me,” stated Seth Owusu who previously played for Chivas in the US Major League Soccer.
