Ex-Ghana Stephen Appiah has advised new Juventus signing Richmond Boakye-Yaidom to seek a loan move.

Boakye-Yiadom signed for the Biaconneri this month from Genoa in a co-ownership deal worth US$5m but cannot be guaranteed playing time.

The 18-year-old is likely to be overlooked as he competes with experienced trio Alessandro Matri, Fabio Quagliarella and Mirko Vucinic.

Appiah-who played for Juventus between 2003 and 2005-left Parma for Brescia on loan for 2002/2003 and had a successful spell.

The 31-year-old wants the Ghana striker to emulate him.

"Exactly, I was at Parma and I never played. I wanted to play at all cost, so I went on loan to Brescia," Appiah told TuttoJuve.

"I got more playing time there and scored 8 goals which helped me to join Juventus.

"It will be fine if a club come for him on loan because at the bottom of it, he will still remain a Juventus player.

"If he gains more experience and the club deems him ready then he can come back. This will be important if he wants to stay in the club."
