The national U 20 football team, the Black Satellites defeated Impilo Ghana FC 6 ? 1 in a friendly game on Wednesday, played as part of preparations to select a winsome side for the team ahead of future international engagements.

The Satellites team was made up of players who ply their trade outside the country and who have been called up to justify their inclusion in the team and their experience showed on the day.

Impilo Ghana FC who are set to compete in the Eastern region 2nd division league expected to start soon, played a highly determined game, but, were no match for the national U 20 side.

They gave too match respect to the national side and paid for dearly for this as the Satellites run riot on the day scoring six with the likes of Carlos Ohene and Yusif Rahim showing class.

Ohene who plays for Cypriot side Alki Larcana, scored the opener for the Satellites within the first quarter of the game before club mate Yusif Rahim made it two moments later to set their side on course for victory.

The Satellites scored two further goals in the first half before the Impilo Ghana side pulled one back to end the session 4 ? 1 in favour of the national team.

Impilo Ghana FC presented a different set of 11 players for the second session, but they could not prevent the Satellites from adding to their tally before the referee called the game over.

Coach of the Satellites, Orlando Wellington hopes to select some of the boys for the team as he seeks to blend the best of foreign and local talents who would represent Ghana at the U 20 level.

Those selected will join their local counterparts to prepare for the qualifiers for the African Youth championships next year with Ghana scheduled to play Uganda over two legs in the second round.

Ghana drew a bye in the first round and will meet the Ugandans who accounted for Mozambique to reach this stage.

Uganda will host the first leg tie on the weekend of July 27 - 29 with the return leg in Ghana after a fortnight with the winners in line to participate in the finals in Algeria next year.

Later, Nicholas Addo coach of Impilo Ghana FC said the game served as a good learning curve for his boys as they prepare to compete in the Eastern region 2nd division league.
