CK Gyamfi blames Wellington for AYC exit

Orlando Wellington must take blame for Ghana Under-20 exit

Celebrated coach Charles Kumi Gyamfi has launched an astonishing attack on Ghana Under-20 coach Orlando Wellington for the team’s exit from the ongoing African Youth Championship.

Gyamfi, who led Ghana to three Africa Cup of Nation cup titles, says Wellington should be held liable for the team’s dreadful showing at the championship.

He told Peace FM: “Some of coaches must undergo training themselves because the current trend is very worrying and think the coach (Wellington) should be held liable for the team’s exit from the tournament.”

“The game has grown and it imperative we get the right people with technical ingenuity to handle the national team. The situation is bad and something must be done about it.”

C. K. Gyamfi is considered the most successful coach in the history of the African Cup of Nations by guiding the Black Stars to success in 1962, 1965 and 1982
