B.A United beat Unity FC in Division One League

Sunyani, (B/A) Jan. 31, GNA - A 55th minute goal scored by Joe Kwabe= na of B.A. United gave his side a narrow one-zero win over visiting Hwidiem Unity F.C. at the Sunyani Coronation Park on Saturday in the 93Zone 1B" Polytank-sponsored Division One League.

Although Unity F.C. went home defeated they were not disgraced as they matched their opponents boot for boot throughout the duration of the match. The match was virtually played in an empty stadium as B.A. United, who were only last week kicked out of the MTN-sponsored F.A. Cup competition by Second-Division side, D.C. United 1-0 at the same venue made sure they redeemed their image.

The home team started the encounter in a whirlwind fashion and came close to registering the opening goal in the 12th and 17th minutes but Ebow and Owusu-Ansah blew off the two chances.

Let off the hook, Unity F/C took over the game with striker Awudu and defender Mohammed, formerly of Kumasi Asante Kotoko, exhibiting wonderful skills all in the hunt for a goal.

They could also not score in the first half as goalkeeper Kwame Noah o= f B.A. United thwarted all their efforts. Undaunted, the B.A. United boys continued to probe for a goal on resumption of the second half and were duly rewarded in the 55th minute through Joe Kwabena's effort. 31 Jan. 11
