SIC staff to engage Retired Footballers in a friendly

Accra, Aug. 22, GNA - Members of staff of SIC Insurance Company Limited will on Sunday, August 29, engage the Retired Players Association football team at the Ohene Djan Stadium, Accra.

The match is expected to be the curtain raiser to the Accra Hearts of Oak encounter against Obuasi Ashgold second leg of the SWAG/SIC H.P. Nyemitei Cup match.

A statement signed by William D. Ezah, acting General Secretary of SWAG said the match forms part of activities aimed at making the day a memorable one and to give football fans more fun and a befitting week-end.

It said the match between SIC and Retired Footballers will commence at 1:00pm, with the main game between Top Four Champions, Hearts of Oak and Ashgold fixed for 3:00pm.

The statement called on soccer fans to come in their numbers to fill the stands early to witness the retired footballers exhibit their brand of football and to bring back memory of their skills that made them heroes of the past.

Hearts and Ashgold will go into the second leg of the 2010 SWAG/SIC H.P Nyemitei Cup Match to annex the enviable trophy. The first leg between the two sides ended goalless draw giving indications of an uncompromising game.
