Chairmen bribed GH¢1000

*RFA Chairmen bribed GH¢1000 each to back 20 club league - Takyi Arhin*

* *The argument over the expansion of Ghana's Premier League to twenty clubs seems to have dissatisfied most club heads across the country as the matter takes a very serious twist.

The Ghana Football Association is alleged to have bribed some executive members to influence voting at the upcoming congress in mid-August, according to one of the most experienced administrators in Ghana football.

Chief Executive Officer of newly promoted BA Stars, Mr. Takyi Arhin claims all ten Regional Football Association (RFA) Chairmen have been offered an amount of Gh¢1,000 each by the GFA to influence them during voting on the 20 club league decision.

Mr. Arhin reiterated that bigwigs at the GFA want to score cheap political points by automatically bringing back Secondi Hasaacas, Eleven Wise and Great Olympics to the top flight. By promoting them, the GFA would get solidarity votes from the members of these clubs to aid the re-election of the current President and executives, the BA Stars CEO believes.

Mr. Arhin in an interview with Sunyani based radio station Dinpa Fm said he has information on the GFA offering cash incentives to RFA Chairmen. He also cautions the other club Executives to be level headed during the congress as it would be disastrous to accept the decision this year.

The outspoken CEO confirmed that, he and the other 15 club chairmen have been notified by the Premier League Board and the FA about the bid for an expansion of the Glo Ghana Premier League to accommodate clubs this year. The decision to or not accept this proposal will be taken at the 2010 GFA congress scheduled for August 18th.

The former General Secretary of Berekum Arsenals said he has enough evidence to support this bribery claims and thinks its the only way the GFA can use to lure votes at the impending congress.

Meanwhile Accra Great Olympics management member Mr. Agyei Akyeakye says his club supports the bid to expand the Ghanaian top flight to 20 clubs because it would help improve the league.
