Hearts and Ashgold agree to the use of guest players in SWAG match

Accra, May 18, GNA - Accra Hearts of Oak and Obuasi Ashantigold have agreed to the use of guest players in the first leg of the 2010 edition of the Sports Writers Association of Ghana (SWAG) Cup match on Sunday, May 30, which takes place at the Len Clay sports stadium at Obuasi. A statement signed by William Ezah, General Secretary of SWAG said, the decision was arrived at a joint meeting between representatives of the two Clubs and the Association.

It said each Club will be allowed the opportunity to use three guest players for the match.

The statement said the provision is to enable the two teams to give competitive exposure to some of their target players for the coming season, as well as for those who even though were good materials they could not be registered for the just ended football season. The two Clubs, the statement added have also agreed to use all their regular players for the match, having drawn in both legs of the just ended Glo Premiership.

The two Clubs have failed to win the 2009/10 Premier League and are expected to use the SWAG Cup as a compensation for their fans by annexing the SWAG Cup, hence the expected keen competition.
