Owusu-Abeyie looking for a new club

Quincy Owusu-Abeyie is anxiously looking for a new club with the transfer season gathering pace after a season of loan stints in the English Championship. The Ghana midfielder and ex-Arsenal player spent time at Birmingham City and Cardiff City and on both occasions failed to tie down a regular place.

Now his representatives are touting him around, hoping he can fix himself a new club before the new season gets underway, even though he still has a deal in Russia, where he has openly admitted he does not want to go back to.

It has been a bad year for Owusu-Abeyie, whose career begun on a high with a transfer from Ajax to Arsenal. But he has been in freefall since he was farmed out by Arsene Wenger to Spartak Moscow in Russia.

The 22-year old has also fallen out of favour with Ghana and has not earned a call-up since arriving late for a World Cup qualifier against Libya in Milovan Rajevac’s first game in charge in September 2008.

With his searing pace and quality delivery, Quincy has also been considered a good player, but irked both Alex McLeish at Birmingham and Ghana coach Milovan Rajevac with his attitude. And it looks like unless he can fix it, he will struggle to stay active and force his way back into contention for a place in the Black Stars.
