President Mills extends best wishes to Satellites

Accra, Jan. 23, GNA - President John Evans Atta Mills has extended best wishes to the national U-20 football team, Black Satellites at the ongoing 16th African Youth Championship in Rwanda.

A statement signed by Mahama Ayariga, Presidential Spokesperson said the President remains optimistic in the abilities of the team at the championship.

"Even as they play in Rwanda, His Excellency's thoughts are constantly with them.

"The President believes the Satellites can emerge champions and ultimately qualify for the World Youth Championship in Egypt in September."

He added that as a keen sportsman and a former football administrator, President Atta Mills has never ceased following the exploits of the Black Satellites.

The Satellites will play hosts Rwanda in the final Group A clash on Saturday at the Amahoro Stadium in Kigali. The Ghanaians must avoid defeat to remain in contention for a place at the next stage and an automatic berth at the World Cup. 23 Jan. 08
