Amoah Fires Breda to the Top

Black Stars striker Matthew Amoah scored the winner for NAC Breda as they beat defending Dutch league champions PSV Eindhovein to go top of the Eredevisie.

Amoah's 87th minute goal ensure Breda's fifth win in the opening six League games.

The winning goal was also Amoah's personal ninth of the season from six games, continuing a rich vein of form that has seen hit the back of the net eleven times for eleven times for both club and country in eight games.

But his latest may just prove to be the most important of the young season. NAC took the lead after just 13 minutes. Martijn Reuser's corner was headed goal wards by Rob Penders and the unfortunate Simons could only deflect the ball into his own net.

PSV were dominant in the second but they were unable to find an equaliser and were punished with three minutes remaining as Amoah fired the ball home following good work from Tyrone Loran and Edwin de Graaf.

Afellay reduced the deficit in injury time with a fine individual goal, but it came too late for Huub Stevens' side to rescue anything from the game.
