Everton To Talk With Nyarko

Officials from Everton Football Club will sit down with midfielder Alex Nyarko in the next few days, following the unsavoury incident that occurred during Saturday's 4-1 defeat at Arsenal.

Moments after the final whistle, Alex suggested to certain members of the media that he wanted to leave Everton and walk away from football just nine months after his ?4.5 million transfer from Lens.

The player had been berated during the match by an Everton fan who ran onto the pitch and removed his own shirt and offered to the Ghanaian.

The suggestion was that Alex remove his Everton shirt in turn, and the Blues midfielder was visibly shaken by the incident, signalling to the bench that he wished to be replaced.

He stayed on the field, but continued to gesture that he wanted to come off, and he was eventually withdrawn for Idan Tal.

"Obviously the player was upset after what had happened, however we will speak to Alex when the situation has calmed down," said Alan Myers, spokesman for Everton.
