Faisal force Hearts to a drawn game

Accra, June 21, GNA - Visiting Kumasi King Faisal forced Accra Hearts of Oak to a goalless drawn game in the 27th Week Premier League match at the Ohene Djan Stadium, Accra on Saturday. Even though it was a game each of the sides needed the maximum points to enhance their standings on the league table, they failed to exhibit their desire in front of goal as their strikers messed up glorious opportunities.

After a boring 20 minutes of action, it was Faisal's Basit Abraham who had Hearts keeper Collins Addo at his mercy but the striker shot feebly into his hands in the 22nd minute. Hearts quickly responded with series of attacks in the Faisal area but also failed to make use of any of the chances that came their way. Even though Faisal had most of the exchanges in the second half, it was the homesters who came close to victory with perfect scoring opportunities but were either denied by their striking errors or the agility of keeper Osei Boateng in post of Faisal.

Boateng was on hand to parry Francis Bossman's powerful drive minute to corner in the 51st minute, but the kick was wasted, whilst Hearts Eric Gawu needed just a tap to put Hearts ahead in the 61st minute but misdirected it for a goal kick. Ekow Ghansah in the 70th minute had his shot scooped out before it crossed the goal line after keeper Boateng was completely beaten. Faisal on the other hand seemed to be satisfied with the score as they resorted to delay tactics, which worked for them as the game ended on barren note.
