Ashanti Region chapter of Kotoko Circles emerge champions

Cape Coast, Oct. 11, GNA - The Ashanti Regional chapter of Kumasi Asante Kotoko Circles beat their Western Regional counterparts 1-0 to lift the Kotoko Circles championship trophy in a gala soccer match played at the Robert Mensah sports stadium at Cape Coast. The Circles (supporters wing0 of Kotoko from Ashanti, Western, Central, Greater Accra and Brong-Ahafo Regions participated in the competition which was organized by management of Circles Association. After referee Charles Nyarko ushered in the two teams for the final match, it was the Western Circle team who indicated their preparedness to carry the day as they matched Ashanti Circle evenly to end the first half scoreless.

Both sides resumed the second half full of fight but it was Ashanti Circle who had the edge in attack in the dying minutes of the game as they went ahead to score the match winner in the 85th minute through their midfielder, Kweku Duah.

The Western team from then took absolute command of the game and made frantic efforts to level up the scores but try as they did, they could not find the net till full time.
