Although his Portsmouth future remains unclear, Nigeria captain Nwankwo Kanu has welcomed the arrival of Ghana star Sulley Muntari at Fratton Park.
The 22-year-old Ghanaian star arrived on a five-year contract worth over GBP4 million from Italian side Udinese and Kanu told the press that, the acquisition is a major coup by boss Harry Redknapp.
"Muntari is a fantastic player with a great left foot," Kanu said. "A lot of people at Portsmouth didn't know what he can do with the ball but when he played at the Kanu Heart Foundation match people had their mouths open.
"He was always hitting some great balls with that left foot and each time, it was always precise and a beauty to watch. I think he will be a success in the Premiership."
Kanu, who is still on holiday, also told press that his own future is still a matter under consideration, although he hinted that things would be resolved one way or another within the next week.
"I haven't met with the club yet to discuss the offer on the table, but I believe we are going to do that very soon in the next one week or so."
