Chief executive Peter Storrie has revealed Portsmouth beat Roma to the £7million signing of Sulley Muntari.

The Serie A giants made a last-ditch attempt to keep the Ghana midfield star in Italy, but he had already set his heart on a move to Fratton Park.

Storrie said: "He's had loads of offers - last weekend he had Roma all over him.
