Chelsea will meet United in the first FA Cup final to be played at the new Wembley stadium after they beat Blackburn Rovers 2-1 after extra time. Michael Essien was again inspirational for Jose Mourinho's side. German Michael Ballack struck the winner after Blackburn's Jason Roberts had cancelled out England international Frank Lampard's opener. Essien followed up his match-winning Champion's League performance against Valencia last Tuesday with another typical all-action display, even venturing forward from his uncharacteristic right-back position to strike an explosive 25-metre shot against the crossbar late in extra time.
