Egypt invites Bonhoff to coach Pharaohs

The Egyptian Football Association has reportedly extended an invitation to Rainer Bonhoff, the aspiring coach of the Ghanaian Senior National team, the Black Stars, to handle the Egyptian National team, the Pharaohs.

According to information made available to the Sports desk of JOY ONLINE, although Bonhoff has indicated his desire to coach Ghana, he has however not made any contractual commitments with the Ghanaian Sports Officials. Rainer, who has starred for the German National side and also was once an assistant coach to the German National team, has been widely tipped as the coach who would be able to turn around the fortunes of the Black Stars.

Meanwhile, on the local scene, Champion premier club, Accra Hearts of Oak has been asked to honour its last match in the ABC Premier League against Dawu Youngsters this afternoon. Hearts Players are currently training at the Accra Sports Stadium for their upcoming continental encounter against Lobi Stars of Nigeria on Sunday. Some soccer analysts say that it is highly probable that Hearts would not honour that match since they have already won the Premier League and would rather want to concentrate on grabbing more laurels on the elusive continental football scene. Should they fail to honour the match against Dawu, they stand to lose three points and also be fined by the Football Association.
