Accra, Nov 13, GNA - With two matches left for the Ghana Football Association (GFA) to declare the nation's representatives for the 2007 continental competition, fifth placed Berekum Arsenals are eyeing a place among the first four Clubs that will be declared tops by the close of November.

Arsenals are seeking to make their second appearance in a continental competition after falling out in the second round of the Confederations Cup competition in the 2006 edition.

The GFA is expected to declare the four clubs after the 12th Week Premier League matches as the nation's representatives for the 2007 continental competitions.

This is as a result of the change in the calendar of the GFA that is aimed at synchronizing with the European, North African and other advanced soccer systems.

Alhaji Yakubu Moro, Chairman of the Club told the GNA Sports that his side is hopeful of winning their remaining two matches to boost their chances of picking a place in the final four after November 26. Even though not very good away performers, Alhaji Moro is confident of reversing this trend with a win against Feyenoord at the Swedru Stadium in the 11th week game on Sunday.

He said this will be complemented by another victory at home against Real Tamale United (RTU) to make their dreams become a reality. Asked why his team has recorded series of unimpressive performance in away matches, the Chairman could however not provide an immediate answer but was optimistic that the trend will change on Sunday when they clash with Feyenoord.

Alhaji Moro however commended referees for their fair officiating so far, saying 93the referees seem to be performing better this year as compared to last year.=94

He expressed the hope that the referees will continue with their performance till the end of the 30th Week league matches to ensure that a worthy champion is declared.

Arsenals have since the commencement of the Premier League won four of their matches and have drawn one of the five matches played at home while on the contrary succeeding to pick just a point in the five matches played on a foreign soil, losing all four games. The Club is presently perched at the fifth position with 14 points.
