RCC of Hearts gives dormant Chapter's ultimatum

Kumasi, Oct 9, GNA - The executives of the Ashanti Regional Chapters Committee (RCC) of Accra Hearts of Oak Football Club have given a three-month ultimatum to four Chapters in the Region to demonstrate their commitment towards the Club's cause or have their membership withdrawn.

Mr Joe Saliu, Chairman of the RCC who gave the warning in Kumasi said the supporters unions which include Chapters 111, 112, 119 and 92 would be dissolved if they fail to adhere to the RCC's directive. =93They have up to December to repent and have to pledge to paying their dues regularly and also not shirking other responsibilities=94, he remarked.

In an interview with the GNA Sports in Kumasi on Monday, Mr Saliu said the RCC's decision was necessitated by the apathy exhibited by the various Chapters in respect of activities of the Club since their inauguration about three years ago.

'The executives of these Chapters have consistently failed to account for their stewardship to the regional body and have also failed to attend regional meetings aimed at enhancing the progress of the Club', he added.

Mr Saliu further indicated that in consultation with the National Chapters Committee (NCC), the RCC dissolved four supporters unions for similar offences last month, stressing that these chapters whose membership were withdrawn include chapters 135, 136, 137 and 156. He pointed out that the RCC had stepped up efforts to streamline the activities of all Chapters in the Region and would therefore be ruthless against all dormant Chapters.

On the activities of the Public Relations Officers of the Chapters, the RCC Chairman cautioned them to strive to limit their comments on radio stations to activities pertaining to their areas of jurisdiction.

He warned PRO's not to go beyond their term of reference so as to avoid conflicts of interests that could be inimical to the Club's development.

Mr Saliu also entreated supporters of Hearts to refrain from acts that tend to divide the Club.
