MP donates TV sets to three communities for World Cup matches

Nyinahin (Ash), June 12, GNA - Mr Isaac Kwame Asiamah, Member of Parliament (MP) for Atwima-Mponua, has presented four-coloured television sets to three communities and a health facility in his constituency to enable them to watch the on-going World Cup tournament in Germany.

The beneficiaries are the Nyinahin Government Hospital, Mpasatia, Otaakrom and the Nyinahin communities.

The four television sets, valued at 15 million cedis are a personal donation from the MP.

Mr Asiamah said apart from enabling the people to follow the prestigious soccer competition, they would also be used to facilitate distance education programmes.

The Kyidomhene of Nyinahin, Nana Owusu Duodu, who received the items on behalf of the beneficiaries, said the TV sets could not have come at a more opportune time.

He said they were grateful to the MP for his gesture. He gave the assurance that they would take good care of the TV sets to prolong their lives. 12 June 06
