Zimbabwe upset Ghana

SOWETO, South Africa - Zimbabwe caused a major upset when they beat Ghana 2-1 during their opening Sasol Under-23 Nations Cup at Orlando Stadium on Sunday.

Justice Majabvi grabbed the first goal of the match in the 24th minute, with Ghana replying through Michael Helegbe in 40th minute.

Johnson Zimbabe scored the all important goal in the 78th minute. Zimbabwean coach Luke Masomere said: "We played well and deserved to win, i thought we deserved to win by a bigger margin.

"It is a good start, we are now going all the way to the final. Our main aim is to go back home with the title."

Eight countries are participating in this tournament. They are the hosts South Africa, Zimbabwe, China, Senegal, Mozambique, Lesotho, Ivory Coast and Ghana.
