Zambia to touch down on January 13

Accra, Jan 3, GNA - The Chipolopolos of Zambia will be the first team to breeze into town for the 26th MTN Africa Cup of Nations, Ghana 2008.

The Group C participants will arrive in the country on January 13, seven clear days to the opening ceremony and will head straight to their base in Kumasi.

Magnus Rex Danquah, Chief Operating Officer of the Local Organising Committee in a statement said the Zambians had officially notified him of their arrival.

The Brave Warriors of Namibia will the second to disembark on January 17 to be followed by fellow Group A opponents, the Atlas Lions of Morocco twenty-four hours later.
All Group B teams, Cote d'Ivoire, Nigeria, Benin and Mali are also scheduled to arrive on the same date.
The Desert Hawks of Sudan will be in town on the eve of the opening ceremony for their seventh Nations Cup appearance. Group D participants, the Bafana Bafana of South Africa will also hit town the same day. The remaining teams are expected to confirm their arrival dates soon. Ghana 2008 commences on January 20 and ends on February 10.
