Zambia await Black Stars friendly

Zambia say they are awaiting confirmation from Ghana over a proposed friendly international against the Black Stars on August 12th 2009. Zambia Football Association communication officer Eric Mwanza says FAZ is hoping to use that game against Ghana potentially in London as preparations for their meeting against Algeria in a 2010 world cup qualifier on September 6th.

The Ghana Football Association has been quiet on a potential friendly game for the Black Stars on August 12th which is the first international window in the new season but kickoffGhana.com understands the GFA are aware of the Zambia interest and will confirm if they will play ball by close of the weekend.

Zambia is currently coach by former Ghana physical trainer Rene Herve who has turned the Chipolopolo into major contenders for a world cup place in a group that contains serial Africa champions Egypt and Algeria.

Ghana on the other hand are sitting pretty at the top of their group after picking up nine maximum points from their opening two games
