Yet Another Appiah transfer Rumour

Stephen Appiah has been out of the domestic game for over a year now, after parting ways with the Turkish outfit Fenerbahce at the completion of the 2007/08 season.

Having played with Parma, Brescia and most notably Juventus in Serie A in the past, the 28-year-old was strongly linked with a move back to Italy in the recent summer transfer period.

Despite this, no club was able to strike a deal with Appiah, particularly Bologna, who were said to be the most interested in acquiring his services.

This may all change in a couple of months though, as the Rossoblu are still interested in the midfielder, and according to some comments made by his agent Luca Pagani, the player would certainly be open to the move.

“I recently read a survey on the Bologna website, and the fans seem to want Appiah at their club,” the agent explained to Itasportpress.

“At the moment I don’t have any information to confirm the existence of a real negotiation; however we are really hoping that the rumours in the media are a good omen for this transfer to go through in January.”

Pagani went on to discuss his client’s current physical state, as this was one of the reasons why he failed to sign for an Italian club a few months ago.

He added, “I can confirm that Appiah is fine, and that he has resolved his physical ailments. This is a certainty.

“Not only that, but it has been rumoured for some time now that he also has problems with FIFA and other entities, things that are absolutely untrue.”

Appiah would be a welcomed addition to the proud club, who are currently languishing in 18th place after eight rounds of football.
