Ghana defender Yaw Frimpong has set an audacious target of making the country’s 2015 African Cup of Nations squad.
The 27-year-old, who plays for DR Congo giants TP Mazembe, earned a late call-up into the Black qualifiers against Uganda and Togo last week.
The former Kotoko right-back is determined to work his way into the team which qualifies for the continental showpiece in Morocco.
“I have been part of the squad a few times, especially for the last two games, but I am yet to kick a ball for the Black Stars in a match,” he said
“I will bide my time and I know that with hard work and patience, I will get to play for the Black Stars one day.
“That is a huge target of mine. I want to be part of the squad that goes to Morocco. I just need to continue working hard and playing for my club and I am sure that my chance will come.”
Frimpong has become a key member of the Ravens since he joined three years ago.
