World Cup qualifier moved from Guinea to Ghana

Concern over civil unrest in Guinea led FIFA to switch a World Cup qualifier between the west African country and Burkina Faso on Sunday to a neutral venue, world football's governing body confirmed.

The African zone Group Five qualifier will be now be played in Accra, Ghana, on Oct. 11.

Human rights groups in Guinea said more than 150 people were killed last week when soldiers fired on demonstrators. Authorities put the death toll at 57 after some 50,000 opposition supporters turned up for a rally against the military junta of Captain Moussa Dadis Camara.
