Wolfsburg chase Boakye

VfL Wolfsburg are aiming to sign Arminia Bielefeld striker Isaac Boakye.

General manager Klaus Fuchs revealed in an interview with a local newspaper that talks with the player had reached an advanced stage.

The Ghanaian scored eight goals in 25 league games last season and expects to sign for the Wolves after his holiday back in Ghana.

Fuchs is almost certain that the deal will happen as he revealed:

"He (Boakye) has told us that he wants to sign for us," he said.

It is expected that Bielefeld will ask for around ?820,000 for the 24-year-old frontman, who will undergo a medical at the Volkswagen Arena when he returns to Germany.

Boakye could thus join fellow Ghana teammate, Hans Adu-Sarpie at VfL Wolfsburg in the coming Bundesliga season.
