Who took Kofi Abanga's ¢40M ?

Although Abanga has remained tight lipped on the identity of the top Kotoko capo who supposedly took 40% of the enticement fee Kotoko paid to him (Abanga), very close sources to the player indicate that Abanga insist he took home only sixty million cedis with the rest of the money going to the club official who brokered the deal that took him to Kotoko. Abanga, who is now certain to don the rainbow jersey come next season is in talks with Hearts officials on how to refund the money to Kotoko, but it’s not known whether the full amount of hundred million cedis would be paid to Kotoko or whether the official who took his cut will cough up the forty million cedis for taking Abanga to Kotoko.

90 Minutes investigations were inconclusive on the identity of the personality involved as to whether he indeed took the money or it’s just a mere fabrication to dent his hard won image but we promise to delve into the bottom of this matter till we unravel the truth surrounding the truth or otherwise of this story.

Meanwhile Abanga is said to be settling well with Hearts and has even started training with the Phobians. He is now housed in a plush Regimanuel Estates apartment at Community 19 and drives a VW Golf 3 reflecting his new status as the most talked about soccer star on the Ghanaian football scene ala Carlos Tevez.

On the flip side of things, Kumasi Asante Kotoko who are licking their wounds have decided to move on. They believe they have numerous players of Abanga’s calibre and have learnt their lesson on this whole “Abangagate” saga which nearly polarised their team.
