Wesley Youth beat Presby Youth

Tepa, Jan. 3, GNA - Tepa Wesley Methodist Youth beat their counterpart from the Ebenezer Presbyterian Church 5-3 in a friendly football match played last Sunday at Tepa.

The match formed part of activities to climax the celebration of the 17th anniversary of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana.

Mark Obeng and Solomon Opoku Asiamah opened the scores for the Presby team in the 18th and 25th minutes respectively.

But the Methodist Youth leveled up and shot ahead through Fosu Bekoe, Mathew Boateng and Collins Merz in the 32nd minute, 40th minute and 41st minute respectively to end the first half.

Both teams made changes on resumption and but this favoured the Methodist Youth who scored two more goals in the 50th and 70th minutes. Presby Youth had a penalty kick in the 85th minute when Mark Opoku was brought down in their opponents' vital area, but Opoku Asiamah failed to convert the kick as he shot wide.

However, with only two minutes to end proceedings, Owoahene Acheampong scored the Presbyterians third goal to reduce the tally.
