Ughelli, Nov 2, GNA - Isaac Paha, Head Coach of Ghana's Black Queens said the team's 2-1 victory over the Indomitable Lioness of Cameroon on Wednesday was powered by their wit, swiftness and technique.

The coach told the GNA Sports at the on-going African Women Championship in Ughelli that 'our wit, swiftness and technique played the advantage for us today'.

The Queens snatched a late winner during injury time through sensational Anita Amankwaa to cruise to the semi finals of the competition with a third group game against the Democratic Republic of Congo on hand.

Even though the team laboured throughout the game, the coach insists, 'I was always confident that we will win no matter the level of opposition the Cameroonians may put up'.

He said he strategized in such a way that the Ghanaians will have the advantage at the crucial moment and paid glowing tribute to the players for adhering to instructions.

Coach Paha has declared that reaching the ultimate remains his dream.

Ghana is making her fifth attempt at gold and the coach is buoyant now is the time to achieve that victory.

He said his focus is to win every game insisting 'we are prepared for all' the Super Falcons inclusive.

The Falcons have won all four previous competitions and are tipped as the favourites in the biannual event.

The Queens and the Falcons are so far the only sides to have qualified to the next stage of the tournament.

Both have won all their two group games.

The Queens will next meet the Democratic Republic of Congo who are wallowing at the bottom of the four-team table.
