We will keep Yahaya Mohammed quiet – Robin Gnange

Yahaya Mohammed Yahaya Mohammed

Accra Hearts of Oak captain Robin Gnange insists Yahaya Mohammed is a good striker, but they will keep him quiet on Sunday.

Gnange will lead the Phobians to Dormaa to face the might of Aduana Stars in the topmost encounter of the Matchday 13 fixtures of the Ghana Premier League (GPL) this weekend.

Hearts top the GPL log with 24 points after 12 games, two points better than the side they will face at the Nana Agyemang Badu Park.

And Gnange, who plays in central defence for the Phobians, acknowledges the task that confronts him and his central defensive partner Richard Akrofi in trying to stop Mohammed who is joint top scorer in the league with nine goals.

“Yahaya Mohammed is a good striker but we will have to stop him if we want to win the game on Sunday,” Gnange said ahead of the tie.

“Eric Bekoe is a good striker and you have to mark him tightly and deny him space,” he continued in reference to their win over Sekondi Hasaacas in Accra in midweek.

“We talked together [as a central defensive pair] – myself and Akrofi – to make sure we did not give Bekoe any space to operate and we succeeded in doing that,” he added.

‘We have a plan to keep Yahaya Mohammed quiet on Sunday, and, we are confident that we will do that to help Accra Hearts of Oak win the game on Sunday,’ he promised.
