We will end Gold Stars’ unbeaten run – Toende captain Hassan

Captain of Division One League side Toende United, Hassan Yakubu, is very optimistic of his team’s chances of winning against fellow second tier side, Gold Stars in their round of 32 fixture of the MTN FA Cup on Sunday at the Bawku Sports Stadium.

He is however calling on the people of the Upper East Region to turn out in their numbers and fill the Bawku Sports Stadium on Sunday to cheer the team on.

“I’m calling on the loving people of this region to come to the stadium on Sunday and throw their support and prayers behind the team and we will not let them down,” he told Goal.com Ghana.

Yakubu who is the key man for the team says his side is ready for Gold Stars on Sunday and will be the first team to beat them this season. Gold Stars are currently unbeaten in the national Division One League through the end of the first round.

“Yes we are well prepared and ready for Gold Stars, we know it’s not going to be an easy match but we want to get to the round of 16 of this noble competition hence will not allow Gold Stars to stand in our way towards making the next round,” Tijani affirmed.

According to the All Stars superstar, though Gold Stars are unbeaten, he is optimistic that his side will give them a good run for their money come Sunday as they are battle ready to end that unbeaten run.

Toende United are the only Division One League side in the Upper East Region, based in Zebilla.
