General Manager of Kumasi Asante Kotoko, Opoku Nti has admitted the club management are yet to review the injury that has ruled out midfielder, Jackson Owusu out for the rest of the 2015/16 season.

Jackson, suffered a fracture of the tibia and fibula early Sunday morning while playing in a “Sunday Special” match.

He was quickly rushed to the hospital. A surgery was performed the next day on his injured left foot and has since been cast after the operation in a Plaster of Paris (POP).

The management of the club for the first time have spoken since the news broke of the injury. Opoku Nti who was a former a player of the club and currently leads the management committee admitted members are disappointed with the injury to one of the club’s most prized-asset but are yet to meet and deliberate on anything.

“We were worried as management and the team led by coach David Duncan has had their plans and preparation for the season distorted but we won’t let that stain our readiness for the season,” he told Kumasi based Boss fm.

He added, “for now our focus is on helping him recover as we value him very much but management is yet to sit on the matter and think through until then treat the deduction on his salary rumours as false.”

Kotoko begin life in the league without Jackson Owusu when the side travel to Sogakope to face WAFA on Saturday, Feb 20.
