We still have the league title in our hand- Fatau

Fatau Dauda believes Ashgold would face tough moments in their attempt to win the 2014-15 Ghana Premier League, but they will emerge winners.

Ashgold have led the league table from the start of the season and even stretched their lead by 7-points, but it has been cut to 2 points.

Despite Ashgold’s dip in form, having failed to win a league game in their last three matches, Fatau Dauda, the shot stopper for the league leaders in their 0-1 defeat against Kotoko on Sunday is still confident his side will win the league.

“We will not find things easy, but I believe we will win the league title at the end of the season.

“At the moment the race for the league title is very close from 1 to 4 position and anything can happen. However, I believe Ashgold will be champions,” the Black Stars goalkeeper told Metro FM.

Fatau Dauda added by reacting to some reports that Frank Sarfo Gyamfi’s goal that secured Kotoko the three points was as a result of goalkeeping error on his part.

“It is only in Ghana that after a defeat we ask of the name of the goalkeeper. I have watched the Kotoko goal again and I think it wasn’t my fault, but the player really did well,” he added.

Berekum Chelsea and Aduana Stars, lying 2 and 3 respectively have given Ashgold a stiff opposition in the run for the league title.
