We played a good side- Cameroon Coach

Coach of the Indomitable Lionesses Enow Ngachu has admitted that his charges faced a tough challenge in the Black Queens despite piping Ghana on any way to rule at the Accra Sports Stadium on Saturday.

The Lionesses qualified to the last round of the 2016 Olympic Games qualification following a 3-3 aggregate score with the Black Queens after the reverse fixture of the penultimate qualifier ended two-all.

Ngachu told GNA Sports that “The Ghanaian side is good. They committed some defensive errors just like Cameroon. They (Ghana) could have carried the day but we succeeded. We both knew our weaknesses and the game was a fair balanced one.”

He noted that his side’s inadequate preparation for the first leg which ended 1-1 in Yaoundé a fortnight ago almost cost them their progress.

‘‘Ghana has never beaten the senior national team of Cameroon. We did not have adequate time to prepare for the first game. We entered into camp two days before the encounter that is why it was difficult for us’’.

He said “We knew the game could be tough but we played very well. They were committed and patriotic. They played for the country because at the end we got rewarded.”

Cameroon will lock horns with Ivory Coast for a spot in the 2016 Olympic Games billed for Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
