We lost African Cup due to exhaustion - Black Satellites

The National under 20 team, the Black Satellites, has blamed tiredness for their inability to capture the African under-20 Trophy for the second successive time.

The Satellites were beaten by a determined Angolan side by two goals at the Ethiopian capital, Addis Ababa. According to the team’s Head Coach, E.K. Afranie, his Players were drained by the two-hour semi-final, which they won on penalties against Egypt. He also attributed the team’s exhaustion on Ethiopia’s high attitude.

A Board Member of the Ghana Football Association and leader of the delegation, Mr. Yaw La Danso however acceded that the Ghanaians lost to a better side. Both men were however pleased that the Satellites realized their dream of being the first team the qualify for the World Youth Championship scheduled for Argentina in June

The Satellites have since arrived in Accra.
