Black Stars midfielder, Agyemang Badu has said the absence of stalwart centre forward and captain, Asamoah Gyan will be felt but the team is ready to soldier on.

The Shanghai SIPG forward has been battling injury this season and this has had an adverse effect on his form for both club and country.

But Udinese midfelder, Badu, told reporters after the teams first training session ahead of the AFCON qualifier against Mauritius on Sunday that he is hopeful a competent replacement for the ex-Sunderland man will be found for this weekend’s tie.

Badu, 25, said, “We have quality replacement to step in Gyan’s position although the vacuum and his absence will be evident for all to see but the strikers available should be up and doing as we all look forward to make him (Gyan) and the nation proud with a win to seal qualification.”
