Wassaman seals Premier League slot

Accra, Aug. 3, GNA – Tarkwa-based Wassaman FC gained qualification to the premier league after a 3-1 win over Deportivo in their Zone Two Middle League encounter on Wednesday at the Tema Park.
The result ensured that Wassaman booked their place in next year’s premier league with a game to spare in the zonal Middle League.
Wassaman, who beat Tarkwa United 3-1 in their opening match last Sunday have six points, three points richer than latter and Deportivo.
It therefore means that the outcome of their final match against Dunkwa United on Sunday will have no impact at the pinnacle of the standings, since Wassaman have an advantage via head-to-head over fellow contenders, Tarkwa United and Deportivo.
The qualification serves a dream fulfilled for the Tarkwa-based club edged out by Ebusua Dwarfs in 2010.
Wassaman completes the trio of promoted clubs for next season’s premier league after Bechem United and returnees Tema Youth.
