Waris: Dede is a natural leader

Black Stars striker Abdul Majeed Waris has backed Andre Ayew to lead the team in the two African Cup of Nations qualifiers against Uganda and Togo respectively.

Ayew is tipped to lead the team in the two games, but media reports earlier on suggested it is a straight fight between Ayew and John Boye.

Waris is likely to start in the absence of Gyan and says Ayew is a natural leader who can lead the team to victory in Kampala and Tamale.

“I don’t have any problem with who captain’s the team or not, we as players, will support anybody that the management chooses.”

“We won’t have a problem with any of them, I’m just hoping for the best, but if Dede gets the armband, that is cool, he is a natural leader and we will all support him.”
