Wakaso returns to Espanyol training after injury scare

Ghana midfielder Mubarak Wakaso has returned to training for Espanyol after recovering from a knee injury.

The summer signing suffered a bruised tendon in his right knee during last Friday's 2-0 win over Montpellier.

But the 22-year-old was involved in full-scale training on Wednesday morning at their camping base in Sant Andria.

Wakaso is pushing for a starting place in the Espanyol side ahead of the start of the new season.

The Barcelona-based side begin their La Liga campaign at Mallorca on August 18.
