New Las Palmas signing Kevin-Prince Boateng has revealed former Ghana international teammate Mubarak Wakaso recommended the club to him.

Boateng, 29, was unveiled to a 5,000 capacity crowd on Tuesday after undergoing a successful medical and signing a one-year deal with the Canary Island.

The former Ghana midfielder will play in Spain for the first time after spending spells in England, Germany and Italy.

Boateng says Wakaso spoke fondly of his time with the side, which informed his decision to sign for the club.

"He told me that it is a quality team. I've seen some games with a modern attacking football. That can come me well," he told the club's website

"For me it was a surprise that the airport found me a legend like Juan Carlos Valerón, it is as if you got me Messi or Cristiano Ronaldo," he concluded.
