Wakaso inspires Rio Ave to winning ways

Ghanaian midfielder Alhassan Wakaso was on top of his game to help Rio Ave beat Maritimo in the Portuguese League on Friday night.

Portuguese forward Roderick Jefferson scored the only goal of the game on the 39th minute to hand Coach Pedro Martin’s side all three points on the day.

Wakaso who was playing in his 24th league game of the season produced a composed display on the day with his brimming energy a valuable asset on the day.

The 24-year-old is one of the top performers for Rio Ave this season and his performance has attracted some of Europe’s top sides.

The 1-0 victory sees Alve remain on 6th position in the Portuguese league table and are on course to secure a European spot next season.
