Wa supporters blame Black Stars' coach for defeat

Wa, (U/W) Feb. 7, GNA - The major streets of the Wa Municipality became very empty soon after the end of the MTN semi-finals match between the Black Stars of Ghana and the Indomitable Lions of Cameroon after the home team lost the match.

The euphoria that normally greeted the Blacks Stars' victory in their previous wins was uncharacteristically absent. A visit by GNA Sports to some drinking spots however saw a lot of people who seemed undaunted as they took their drinks despite the one-nil loss to Cameroon.

Mrs Alberta Tiesun, who spoke to the GNA Sports in the congested TIMPOL drinking spot at Tindamba, in Wa, said alcohol was meant for two things; happiness and sadness and so "the value is the same whether we loose or win".

She however admitted that the Cameroonians were more purposeful at goal and took their chances and therefore won at the end of the day and urged Ghanaians to accept the defeat and go back to the drawing board for subsequent tournaments, rather than crying over split milk. Mr Kwabena Sefa, an attendant of 'FREE PORT' drinking spot blamed the Stars' coach for shifting positions of particular players, saying starting with Andre Ayew was not helpful as the Cameroonians were more physical and ended up throwing away the game plan of the Black Stars.
