WVI board member commends the Stars

Ekumfi Edumaafa (C/R), June 15, GNA - Mr Keiran Moylan, a member of the Board of the World Vision International (WVI), has commended the senior national team of Ghana, the Black Stars for putting up a gallant performance against the national team of Italy last Monday.

Mr Moylan from Ireland is in Ghana with other members of the Board to evaluate the work of the international Christian non-governmental organisation and to attend an executive council meeting, which is being held in the country for the first time.

The WVI board has a membership of 20, out of which 10 formed the executive council board.

Mr Moylan said even though the Ghanaians lost the match they were not in the least disgraced and urged the people to sustain the support base or even increase it to let the players feel that their people were still solidly behind them.

He made the commendation at a durbar organised by the chiefs and people of Ekumfi Edumaafa in the Mfantseman District of the Central Region in honour of the visiting members of the WVI.

Mr Moyland was optimistic that the Black Stars would qualify for the next stage of the competition and urged Ghanaians not to dampen their morale through unguarded statements.

He noted that, if all Ghanaians including school children, students and workers could exhibit the spirit the Stars displayed against Italy, development of the nation would move faster than expected.
