WAFA SC kid Gideon Mensah handed Benfica trial

Promising defender Gideon Mensah is being assessed by Portuguese side Benfica, his club WAFA SC announced on Friday.

The left-back is expected to spend two weeks at the club and should re-join his parent club for the new Ghana Premier League season.

Mensah’s visit to France is expected to pave way for his transfer during the summer transfer window.

It will also give him the needed exposure before finally moving abroad.

Last October, Mensah was on trial at French Ligue 1 outfit Lille OSC.
