Vitesse extend Amoah's contract

Vitesse have extended the contracts of Matthew Amoah till summer 2006. The Arnhemmers had been negotiating new deals with the 21 year-old for some time and technical manager is glad that the talented player has decided to stay at the Gelredome side. "It was necessary for us to keep a player of his calibre if we're to stay in touch with the top clubs."

Amoah misses RBC match

Matthew Amoah will be missing when Vitesse play host to RBC Roosendaal tomorrow evening. The Ghanaian striker, who recently extended his deal with the club, is suffering from a toe injury he picked up in the match against Zwolle when he accidentally kicked goalie Johan van der Werff's leg. The 21 year-old has been unable to train since and even has problems pulling on his boot! Trainer Mike Snoei hopes they will be able to get him fit in time for the Arnhemmers' UEFA Cup clash with Romanian side Rapid Boekarest in the Gelredome next Tuesday.
