Vipers draw with Tema Sportive

Cape Coast, Sept. 4, GNA - Division One campaigners, Cape Coast Venomous Vipers played a highly spirited game to hold Premier league side Tema Real Sportive to a pulsating 1-1 drawn game in a soccer match played at the Robert Mensah stadium, Cape Coast. The match was organized to round off the activities of the celebration of the Fetu Afahye Festival of the Chiefs and people of Oguaa Traditional Area.

After Referee Joseph Nyarkoh whistled for hostilities to begin it was Vipers who the game on a fast note as they matched their opponents for better part of the first half to end the first segment goalless. Visiting Sportive who fielded such players as Yakubu Abukari, Emmanuel Afful, Issa Wahab and Joel Arthur brought pressure to bear on Vipers on resumption of the second half.

Sportive pinned Vipers to their own half for a considerable time and it came as no surprise when midfielder, Abukari scored the opener in a goal mouth melee in the 65th minute.

Against the run of play, Vipers who were still under pressure got the much needed equaliser through their midfielder, Nathaniel Annan, when he delivered a surprising long range shot in the dying minutes of the game to bring the scores to 1-1.
