Vipers beat Fauzan in First Division League

Cape Coast, Oct. 3 GNA- Cape Coast Venomous Vipers recorded their first victory in the zone 2B First Division League match when they pipped Kasoa Fauzan 2-1 at the Cape Coast Sports stadium on Saturday.

Vipers who needed the maximum three points to be among the hot contestants vying for promotion to the Middle League, made victory certain when they scored two rapid goal in the 71st and 78th minutes. From the blast of Takoradi based referee Jay Wilson Sey, the two clubs gave a good account of themselves with neither side able to score to end the first half goalless.

Vipers resumed he second half strongly and opened the scores in the 71st minute through substitute Francis Yankey and increased his side's tally to 2-0.

Fauzan forced the tide in their favor in the dying minutes of the game and managed to score a consolation goal in the 85th minute through inside right Razak Yakubu.
