Upper West Police Win by 2-1

The Upper West Regional Police football team on Sunday played a determined game to beat Globe Warmers, a Wa based Keep Fit Club 2-1 in a friendly football match at the Wa Wanwang Park.

The match which was organised as part of the activities marking the first anniversary celebration of the Keep Fit Club, was also aimed at fostering good relationship between the civilian population and the police.

Globe Warmers dominated the initial stages of the game right from the blast of the whistle and made a number of dangerous raids into the Police vital area.

This earned them a penalty which was expertly converted for the first goal of the match in the 17th minute.

Undoubtedly, the Police team fought back gallantly and were rewarded with a penalty which was beautifully converted by striker Constable Christian Setorglo for the equaliser in the 30th minute.

On resumption, the police team piled up pressure on Globe Warmers and successfully raised the tally to 2-1 through Afful in the 85th minute.

Globe Warmers tried as much as they could to equalise but to no avail till the final whistle.

The Keep Fit Club which was formed a year ago, with eleven members now has a membership of 80.
